The text of President Islam Karimov’s keynote address delivered at the official meeting occasioned to the 21st anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan
I am enormously delighted to greet you in this magnificent and peerless hall, express my sincere respect to you all and congratulate on the 21st anniversary of the country’s Constitution that has laid a robust foundation for building a new state and society.
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov chaired January 18 an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers gathered to review the outcomes of socio-economic development in the country in 2012 and outline priority aspects of the economic program for the year 2013.
President Karimov delivered a review speech at the session.
Notwithstanding the persistent grave situation in the global economy, Uzbekistan continued, according to the head of our state, to advance its economy in 2012, was able to secure steadfast growth in the living standards of the population, and reinforce our standing in the world market.
These days our people widely celebrate the Constitution Day as a national holiday among other special and glorious ones in the life of our state and society that laid the ground for our independence and defined the basis of our free and prosperous future.
On this occasion, let me congratulate you from the bottom of my heart, my dears – and in your person, our entire nation – on this great holiday and express my sincere wishes.
