As it was reported earlier, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov took part in the of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting of Council of the Heads of State in the city of Ufa, Russia, on July 9-10.
The major events of the summit took place on July 10. The session of the Council of the Heads of State of SCO member nations started with a meeting in contracted format. The talks were attended by President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev, President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambaev, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, and President of the Republic Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
The meeting participants swapped visions on pressing issues of international and regional significance as well as prospects in the evolution of SCO.

As it was reported earlier, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov arrived May 27 in Seoul on a state visit, at the invitation of President Park Geun-hye of the Republic of Korea.
The second day of the visit started from the travel by the President of our country to the National Memorial Complex that houses the burial remains of nearly 170 thousand people who sacrificed their lives for the independence of the Republic of Korea.
The head of our state paid tribute to the fallen and laid a wreath to the Memorial Column.
During the official ceremony of welcoming the high ranking guest at the residence of the President of the Republic of Korea, the guard of honor lined up under the sounds of state anthems of the two nations. The two leaders walked along the guard and gave honor to them.

Islam Karimov and Nursultan Nazarbaev stressed that the steadfast advancement of interaction across diverse spheres in the spirit of the Strategic Partnership Treaty between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan, inked in Tashkent in June 2013, meets the vital interests of the two peoples, their historical and cultural community, the potent bonds of friendship and neighborliness tested by time. Moreover, the consistent enlargement of such cooperation facilitates the consolidation of peace and stability in the region as well as sustainable development and prosperity in it.

Thus, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan met with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani who had arrived in Dushanbe to attend the summit as the head of an observer nation in the SCO. The two sides discussed the current state of bilateral relations across a variety of spheres and exchanged views on their further development.
During his state visit to the People’s Republic of China, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov on August 20 met with Premier of the PRC Li Keqiang.
It was noted during the meeting that the current visit by President Islam Karimov will facilitate the further consolidation and development of cooperation between our two countries and afford a new impetus to the steadfast enhancement of strategic partnership relations.
The President of Uzbekistan stressed that during the talks in Beijing the two sides signed more than twenty documents concerning projects for a total sum of 5.2 billion US dollars, along with trade agreements for 800 million dollars. Thus the value of deals reached 6 billion dollars.

The Uzbek-Chinese relations have been noticeably enlarging as of late to rise to a higher level of strategic partnership.
